Registration
There is no need to register for
our auctions. If you are the successful
bidder one of our sales staff will accompany you to the administration office
and complete the sale. You should bring
with you your driver's licence showing your current address.
At
the Auction
Arrive at the auction in plenty
of time to inspect the cars. Most of the
cars you will see will be available for auction. If you wish a car to be started please ask one of
friendly floor staff for assistance. For
insurance and legal reasons we cannot allow you to test drive a car - the cars
are owned by many people including fleet, leasing and finance companies.
The cars are lined up in our
under cover auctions in the order in which they will be auctioned. All vehicles have reserves, occasionally the
auctioneer will announce that the vehicle will be sold with 'no reserve'.
Before the auction starts the auctioneer will read out the terms and
conditions of the auction. Please note
that if you bid and you are the winning bidder you are entering into a legally
binding contract to purchase the car.
The
auctioneer usually asks for an opening bid close to the value of the car, the
auctioneer may reduce this asking price until a bid is received. Once bidding starts the bids usually increase
by $200. To bid simply raise your hand
in the view of the auctioneer until your bid has been acknowledged.
If your bid is below the reserve
the auctioneer will call 'submit' or 'referred' this means that whilst the
vehicle is not sold the auctioneer will negotiate between you and the vendor to
achieve a sale.
Paying for
your vehicle.
The final
price to be paid is the bid price (or negotiated price) plus the buyers
premium. You will be given an invoice
and be asked to pay a deposit of $500 with the balance due in 48 hours by EFT,
bank cheque or cash. Cheques are not
accepted. You may use your credit card
for the deposit but not the balance.
What
to do once you have purchased your vehicle
You must transfer the registration into your name or register the vehicle at your local Roads & Traffic Authority within 14 days. You will have to pay a registration fee and stamp duty.
